Pursuits.
All individuals require their basic fundamental needs to be fulfilled before they can start to consider the needs of others. In Western society, these needs have been met for the majority of people for many decades. However, it seems that we are now entering a time where our individual pursuits of acquiring wealth, material possessions, and status are catching up to us. This is evident in the form of the national debt crisis, the deterioration of community values, and a scarcity of general kindness. We are seeing a growing number of people who lack basic needs, which makes it harder for them to care for others and uphold cultural values. Our personal quest for success often results in societal greed and neglect for the poor and social outcasts. With this said, I'm grateful to live in a supportive small community like the Pass.
