Thirds.
I've mentioned this before, but I like to divide my day into thirds. Of course, unexpected events sometimes disrupt this plan. The first part is dedicated to sleeping, which includes making sure I get enough quality rest.* The next part is focused on work and productivity. I prefer work that challenges both my mind and body, and it's satisfying to look back on the day and see something physically accomplished. The last part is where everyone's routine varies most, but I think of it as the home management portion. This includes fulfilling household responsibilities, volunteering, spending time with family or friends, hobbies, and taking steps to ensure I have the energy to manage the other parts of my day. By segmenting my time in this way, I've found I'm more intentional with the finite hours I have.
*Feel free to Ignore this portion if you are a parent with young children, I understand you are just trying to get any amount of rest possible.
