Alabama Hills National Scenic Area.
We arrived at the alien landscape mid-day, driving through a corridor detour, winding curvaceously around voluptuous boulders. The desert ecosystem had rocks protruding from the earth, creating a bubbled surface. We spent a day here, traversing the scenic region along the sand roads until we found a campsite for the evening. After photographing a sunset and sunrise, we decided to continue south.
