A New Genre.
One common theme I noticed while living in the Yukon was that many spaces were informal collection points for deteriorating objects. These locations exist everywhere, but they appeared more common in the north. It may be due to the challenge of discarding things so remotely or a mentality of 'what if I need this one day.' It could also be that in contrast to the vast swaths of untouched nature, they stuck out more than other places. Regardless, it was the dejected buildings, vehicles, or other objects that I was attracted to when spending time in the few towns I frequented there. These things had a purpose at one point, and now they are left to degrade back into raw materials.
