Logic Won Out

We made the eight-hour drive to my parents' house in Bonnyville, Alberta. I reminisce fondly about the town I grew up in. I shouldn’t say eight-hour drive because it took us over 10 with a few stops. Breakfast at our friend Nic’s, a stop at Costco to grab stuff for my family. All aspects are part of the journey. Additionally, we had our two dogs, and our daughter loaded up. During the last hour of straight crying, I felt the father of road trips past emerging. The iconic line of “ if you don’t stop it, I’m turning this car around” felt absolutely suitable in the moment.

Fortunately, logic won out, and telling a baby anything really has little impact.
