Walking.

Going for walks outside was a routine I began once we adopted Aspen. When I see her chasing the scents of the forest or rolling in the snow, it brings me joy. I do my best to spend time in silence and be intentional with my internal dialogue. In reality, I am composing photos in my mind, praying or simply trying to get rid of repetitive thoughts. Depending on where I am walking dictates the time more than I expected. In the forest, I find reflecting on the goodness of creation significantly more accessible than walking down a back alley and taking photos of a neglected building. In contrast, it is easier to contemplate human relationships and my societal role when the town surrounds me. All this occurs internally while Aspen jovially runs, sniffs, and rolls in whatever landscape we find ourselves.
