Nature's Composters.
"That which dies is the fungal kingdoms' prize."
Apologies for the cheesy rhyme, but mushrooms have fascinated me since I began photography. They occupy the space between life and death. They arise when the mycelium absorbs sufficient moisture and nutrients. Below the surface of the forest floor, countless interactions and exchanges occur. This dynamic system is one society needs to learn to partner with rather than look at in disgust. Composting and properly repurposing our organic material is one of the primary ways we can return to the natural order of our earth. It uses energy from the sun instead of the immense amount of resources recycling requires.
