Mojave National Preserve.
On our way to Joshua Tree, we decided to take a minor detour to a region we didn't plan on visiting. I'm glad we stopped at this geographically intriguing location. They call America a melting pot, and I'm positive it's because of the absurd heat in these arid landscapes. When the thermostat says anything above 20 Celsius I consider it too hot, but nearing plus 40!? The AC of the truck was our only reprieve.
