5 Cliché Reasons Canada Is the Best!.
It's not until you’re away from Canada for 9 months that you realize how freaking amazing this country is! Why do you think there are so many immigrants coming here? It’s because Canada is insanely pristine compared to the other countries in the world. I’m not going to start bashing other countries but rather point out some of the aspects I missed most about my home.
5. Tim Horton’s
One of the few meals I craved while being away was Tim Horton’s Iced Cap and Steak & Cheese Panini. If you haven’t had this delicacy I highly recommend you indulge in this succulent selection.
4. Climate
Too windy, too hot, too many bugs, too humid, too wet, and too dusty were all thoughts that frequently passed through my mind every time I braved a foreign environment! Sure some could complain about it being too cold here in Canada but for the most part our climate is pretty great. Also it’s always easier to dress warmer than cool off and prevent perpetual sweating.
3. Sunsets / Sunrises
The evening of my return home I was treated to a stunning sunset. Throughout the 9 months of living or traveling abroad I might have seen one half decent sunset and two solid sunrises. I’m not sure what it’s like in other parts of this vast country but in Alberta, unless it’s densely clouded, the light is superb!
2. Wilderness
Moose, Beavers, Bears, Rams, Cougars, Coyotes, Owls, Geese, Fox’s, Elk, Ducks, Lynx, Deer, and Wolves are just a few of the guardians of the Canadian wilderness. The variety of wildlife is phenomenal and the landscapes that surround them are equally majestic. Too often people want to go on safaris in Africa but I think photographing or observing wolves, bears, moose, or any of the other Canadian creatures is far more exhilarating.
1. Canadians
Rumour has it that Canadians are polite. Well its true for the most part. I’m not sure if there was a cultural barrier but a lot of countries didn’t feel as welcoming when it came to their hospitality. I think that a lot of people just aren’t taught how to treat guests but then again there were a few Asian countries where the people were extremely pleasant.
I hope you enjoyed reading why I love my home country! The images below are from one foggy evening where locations I regularly drive by came to life thanks to the haze. Lastly, if you think I forgot something I would love to hear your thoughts! If you’re reading this and you’re from a different country share with me what you love most about your home!
