Unapologetic Intent.
Ethel Spowers (The Staircase Window)
Each of these people or products plays a significant role in how I make things. They have influenced me in ways that shape my perception of the world through their beauty and intentionality. These individuals and objects embody a deep sense of purpose. There is an unapologetic intent behind every choice in the process of creating music, photographs, art, scotch, or building community.
I find the concept of inspiration somewhat distasteful; however, I struggle to find a more appropriate term. The connections we form with these influences should be curated with care, especially as our choices continue to expand. While this might seem beneficial, the intentions behind this overwhelming influx often lead to destructive outcomes.
